UPDATE: Relocation Status

Posted on 5th November 2008 by Ruby Tuesday in Traxx News

A very, very quick update…

We are now in the new premises and the studio is all set up and ready to go!

We are scheduled to be back online Friday 7th November.

IMPORTANT: We are relocating…

Posted on 30th October 2008 by Ruby Tuesday in Traxx News

We are relocating as of Friday 31st October.

It may take a few days for us to be back and operational. At this point, we are expecting to be offline between Friday 31st October and Wednesday 5th November at the latest. We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause you, our dedicated listeners. We assure you we’ll be doing all we can to ensure the interruption is minimal. We’ll endeavor also to keep you informed during the move.

Our new studio is located half way up Mount Gravatt and boasts sweeping views of Brisbane city. For those who aren’t aware, Traxx is currently broadcast out of one of our bedrooms. In the new house it will have its own dedicated studio/office and with this new facility we will be able to focus more time and attention toward the management and operation of Traxx Radio. We believe this move is an incredibly important step in Traxx’s future.

We look forward to bringing you photos of our new studio (and view!) and continuing our 24 hour broadcast of the world’s finest indie tracks!

NEW REQUESTS SYSTEM!

Posted on 13th September 2008 by Henry in Traxx News

If you’re an avid studio cam viewer then you will know that I have been without sleep for the past 2 nights. Not only have I been carefully selecting the most superior indie tracks for airplay, I’ve also been working incredibly hard on coding the brand new requests system. It’s taken 24 whole hours (it’s hard for me to type fast with my stubby legs) and it is now publicly available for your use! So check it out here and go wild!

Please note:
- It is currently a BETA and there may be bugs or other issues until I iron it all out.
- The dedications system is not yet completed – it has been a complicated task and I’ve decided to go back to square one. EDIT: Dedications now work 100%!
- A request policy outlining abuse of the system and explaining possible error messages will be released shortly. EDIT: Request FAQs are now here.

Introducing…TraxxRadio.com!

Posted on 12th September 2008 by Ruby Tuesday in Traxx News

Traxx Radio is now more accessible than ever!

To improve our internet presence and ensure Traxx is easy to access, we have officially launched our new additional domain, www.traxxradio.com! You can get to Traxx via either the .net or .com domain; choose which ever you prefer!

New Chat Feature + Team Member!

Posted on 11th September 2008 by Ruby Tuesday in Traxx News

Thanks to the innovative workings of hab.la, you can now chat live with who ever’s in the studio! Check out the homepage to give it a go.

In other news, I’d like to officially welcome Henry to the team. Our resident pig will be taking the reigns as the station’s man-in-the-chair-when-no-one-else-is. Give him a yell and a warm welcome next time you see him about (via studio cam or blog)!

Yo, ’sup?

Posted on 11th September 2008 by Henry in Traxx News

I’d like to introduce myself. Name’s Henry and I’m the newest pig on the block here at Traxx (check out my pic to the right).
This morning I received a call from Ruby Tuesday advising me that I had been successful in my application for the position of Station Floater. It’s a hard role to describe but I’m kind of like the Auto DJ. When ever there’s nobody about in the studio, I’ll be spinning the tracks and programming your listening experience.

You can read my profile on the team page or if you’re wondering whether I’m behind the controls, take a look at the studio cam.

I look forward to interacting with all of the Traxx fans!

Every year The Carter Group run a unique competition to crown the best internet radio broadcaster in The Internet Radio Awards. Every year it’s up to you, the listeners, to vote for your favourite station to ensure it reaches the top spot. For the broadcaster that obtains that spot, a certain reputation is created as it is recognised as the winner of the coveted award.

As we’re in our first year of broadcasting, this is our first time competing in The Internet Radio Awards. So if you’re a fan Traxx, make sure you cast your vote!

traxxROADTRIP

Posted on 20th August 2008 by Ruby Tuesday in Traxx News

We sent this out as a Facebook update to fans some time ago. We thought we’d share it with all of our dedicated blog readers…

Hello dedicated listeners,
This is a short and top secret update informing you of some very exciting preliminary plans currently being developed by the Traxx crew.

Within the next 12 months, we plan to undertake the most ambitious outside broadcast tour any radio station has ever achieved before. Our plan is to travel Australia from the farthest Eastern point to the farthest Western point in a fully decked out broadcast studio van. The van will be covered in Traxx Radio livery promoting the world’s indie internet station where ever the long road takes us and will be equipped with the latest in audio technology and 3G & satellite communication. Throughout the journey we will be not only broadcasting live at certain stages but also visiting artists/bands/celebrities/other interesting people. You’ll feel like you’re there thanks to the regular blogs including videos, photos, journals and podcasts which will all be maintained throughout the drive.

For the meantime though, we are looking for suggestions and ideas from everyone. Please feel free to drop us a line with any that you may have. We’re also in the market for an old van (possibly a 1985 Toyota Tarago or similar) that is in good enough condition to travel the country (yes, we will have a mechanic on hand at all times!).

Lots of love,
TRAXX.

traxxBLOG launches!

Posted on 12th August 2008 by Ruby Tuesday in Traxx News

Bet you couldn’t predict we’d start up a blog!

As part of our plans to expand Traxx into a more interactive media form, we officially introduce you to the next step – a blog where you will find the latest station news, band profiles, music reviews, free music and so much more…

This blog will also be the exact spot that we’ll be writing our journal during traxxTOUR – our ambitious live broadcast expedition from one end of Australia to the other…but more on that some other time!

In addition, it’s the first in a series of traxxTHIS branding, something that we will be rolling out over the months to come.
