So you want traxx to play your tracks...

Will you play my stuff?

If you're an independent band or musician then chances are, yes, we will give you airplay!
Of course anything with commercial overtones is out, though! So if you're unsure, spend an hour listening to traxx and consider whether or not your track will fit in. Generally we play Indie Rock, Indie Pop, Electropop, New Rave, Britpop, Indie Folk, Indietronica, Indie Hip Hop, Noise Pop, Post-Rock, et cetera!

How long will it take for my stuff to be added?

We can't say for sure, unfortunately. We wish we could, but traxx is a very busy radio station! We aim for a rotation refresh at least once a month. If you email us your tracks, you will receive an email if and when they are added to rotation. If you're sending via snail mail, please make sure your contact email address is included in your bio!

How do I submit my tracks?

It's extremely important that you ensure your MP3s have ID3 tags. As you can appreciate, we receive a lot of music here! It's really hard and time consuming to try to match tracks up to an email, so just make sure the Title, Artist and Album fields are filled out and we won't complain! It's also good to make sure that your MP3s are 320kbps. And for those who just love their original sound quality, WAV files are cool, too!

You can email your tracks to our Music Director: md[at]traxxradio[dot]com (attachments are soooo much better than drop box sorts of things - expiring links are a nightmare!), or you can post your CDs to us. Contact our MD for our mailing address.

Feature Albums

We have two Feature Albums every week. One is usually a big indie release, y'know, like TV on the Radio, Death Cab, those sorts of peeps, and the other is usually an independent Australian release. If you'd like your album to be considered as a Feature Album (which means a written album review, airplay all week, website & social media promotion, industry & fan mailout, etc.), then we recommend you do the following:
Send us more than one copy of the release (so that we have merchandise to assist with promo);
Send it in advance! If it's too late, it does need to be fairly recent (probably no longer than two months, but for more well known artists, a month max).
Make yourself available for an interview. These are posted on our website and played on our weekly flagship show.
